Bio - Lost Dog started jamming together 7 years ago and has played classic rock music in the San Francisco Bay Area for thousands of people ever since. The band has played venues ranging in size from 30 to over a thousand people with a broad setlist covering rock classics from Elvis Presley to Green Day. The collaboration that would ultimately lead to the formation of Lost Dog can be traced to a barnyard jam in the Santa Cruz mountains in the summer of 2000. That's where lead guitarist Dave Casentini and bassist John Gajan first worked their way through some old Cream, Hendrix, and Creedence standards. By early 2002, brother and drummer Alan Casentini had joined the jam and a regular, albeit infrequent, "band" kind of thing was going on. It remained a casual affair until a challenge by Alan to turn it up a notch and "get serious". After a short, unsuccessful search for other musicians and a vocalist, John turned to long-time friend and occasional acoustic jam partner, Jim Hannemann. On May 7, 2006, John, Alan, and new vocalist/guitarist Jim Hannemann jammed for the first time in Alan's studio/garage and the band was formed. Keyboard/guitar player Kevin Kroner joined in July 2007 and Vocalist David Beiser recently joined in May 2008. The silouhette for the band's logo is actually that of Jim's beagle, Sam!
